BLCKDGRD is back. Story there. This place going back to sleep.

Not Here, There

New post at BLCKDGRDEXILED, which wins the temporary (perhaps permanent – read the post) replacement for BLCKDGRD. Explanation why motherfucking blooger won even after screwing me in post too. I’ll continue to link to new posts there here for a week or so, but new content will be elsewhere.

Rescue Me Before the Night Does

First, thanks for all the Kind words and thoughts, it means a lot to me, and thanks for spreading the word of what happened. I’m going to try to not have to ask people to change their bookmarks on their blogs and please don’t for the time being. I will be someplace – as I wrote a friend earlier this morning, My favorite novelist, Stanley Elkin, once diagnosed himself with logorrhea, a chronic and uncurable running of the mouth. I gots it. I’ll keep you informed.

It’s clear google is useless. I called Enom, a company I’d never heard of until yesterday when I found out they are the people who actually manage the domain name. The person I talked to advised me to send an email to Enom’s google-handlers to see if some resolution can be found. Apparently google created a google app account for me and failed to give me both the login information and the password. The person was mildly hopeful. In any case, I’ll be somewhere, here for the time being, though I will cross-post at BLCKDGRD EXILED, a joint I’m setting up so that I can install the self-updating blogrolls I – and some of you, some of you tell me – use as bookmarks. If I had blogrolled you at the green place and you don’t see yourself listed there please send me your URL. I’ll be adding sites as I go, but please, email me or comment here or comment there if I still need add you to the rolls. Yes, it’s another fucking blooger place – and if the green one is not recoverable the new fucking blooger place will be eventual home, it’s the self-updating blogrolls, the one thing it does well. I’m not going to do much more work there until I know it’s where home will be, but in the meantime let me know if you’d prefer dark type over light background rather than visa versa in case that becomes home. I’d rather the old place where – fuck my free blogging platform – the ability to change the template died over a year ago.

Have more Necks plus an Ashbery poem – his birthday is tomorrow, it’s a High Egoslavian Holy Day and will be celebrated – and link farming will resume by Monday if not sooner.

MY EROTIC DOUBLE

John Ashbery

He says he doesn’t feel like working today.
It’s just as well. Here in the shade
Behind the house, protected from street noises,
One can go over all kinds of old feeling,
Throw some away, keep others.
                                             The wordplay
Between us gets very intense when there are
Fewer feelings around to confuse things.
Another go-round? No, but the last things
You always find to say are charming, and rescue me
Before the night does. We are afloat
On our dreams as on a barge made of ice,
Shot through with questions and fissures of starlight
That keep us awake, thinking about the dreams
As they are happening. Some occurrence. You said it.
I said it but I can hide it. But I choose not to.
Thank you. You are a very pleasant person.
Thank you. You are too.

Blaaager

Here’s the latest plea I’ve posted to a blogger help forum describing the issue:

My domain expired. Google sent me email with a link but the link won’t recognize my login/password. I am able to get into my youtube, gmail, and blogger accounts and I’m able to get into google wallet where I can see I renewed the domain name each of the past two Julys. I’ve also reset my password multiple times with the same result – I can get into everything but google admin. I suppose I must have done this before google eliminated free google admin. Anyone have any way to get this fixed. I’ve been told by eNom that google will not let them do anything for three weeks. Any advice, instructions, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Here’s the plan for the time being: will post here at least for the time being and will create a new blogger site so I can recreate the blogrolls I use as bookmarks. I will probably move there since I know some of you use the blogrolls as your bookmarks. If you were on the blogrolls please send me, if you haven’t already, your URL. Please don’t reset me on your blogrolls yet. In theory the old place will return, though I have no faith that even if eNom gains control of the domain google will work then.

Though lordy, fresh tablets and occasion to bleggalgaze. I should be happier. As always, fine metaphors abound.

Ironies abound. Domain name there expired half an hour after I said I thought I had a workaround. Google is useless for help. Back someday, or not.

Since You Looked

I’ve no issue writing what the fuck I want to over there, the creation of this blog accomplished its intent. Still, daydreams of leaving blooger, prompted entirely by blooger, persist. Since you’re here, here are my credentials, shot this past Sunday at BMA.

Should Gah Need Migrating

Reminding myself this is here, teaching myself how it works, should blooger become untenable, not morally but functionally.

Fifty-three today, this guy. When we met in 5th grade forty-four years ago neither of us predicted the weirdest year of our lives would be 2013.

cave

Slideshow of last night’s Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds show tomorrow at BLCKDGRD, where after a week of relative aarghlessness (limited to links) and posts on poetry, the death of an obscure musician, DC United, culminating today in a post for my daughter’s 20th birthday, I think I’ve driven off all but the most loyal of readers, mostly people I know as flesh and blood and the few digital readers who are fellow citizens of my Stringtown.

As for the show, Cave worked, gave us our $$$worth, band was tight, excellent show. Cave seemed frustrated the crowd didn’t work as hard as he did, the cost, no doubt, of an aging rocker’s aging audience. What a bunch of old fucks we were. Still, watching the Strathmore docents’s faces as Cave sang Stagger Lee’s lyric I’ll crawl over five good pussies to get to one fat boy’s asshole was almost worth the price of admission itself.
